Bihar’s law enforcement struck back hard in East Champaran district, eliminating two fugitives in a high-stakes encounter following their provocative vow to kill over a dozen policemen. The operation in Ramdihia village also resulted in the martyrdom of STF personnel Shri Ram Yadav, highlighting the perilous frontline battle against organized crime.
It all ignited with a menacing call from Nepal to Chakiya’s deputy station officer. Kundan Thakur and Priyanshu Dubey boasted, ‘We’ll lay out 10-15 police bodies soon. The city will see our dominance.’ SP Swarn Prabhat, treating the warning as a declaration of war, activated surveillance and deployed STF units.
Tracing the call led straight to the hideout. Police surrounded the area, urging surrender, but met with a hail of bullets. The gunfight intensified as the criminals desperately fought back. Tragically, jawan Yadav took a bullet and breathed his last in hospital.
Police firepower prevailed, felling both assailants instantly. Arms haul included a carbine, pistols, and a desi katta. With rap sheets full of grave charges, these were no petty thugs. Some associates escaped under cover of darkness, but the dragnet tightens.
Senior officers, including DIG, rushed to the site, sealing off Chakiya for combing operations. SP Prabhat’s firm stance: ‘No room for criminals daring the law.’ This clash underscores escalating gang-police tensions in Bihar, where bold threats now invite swift retribution. The fallen hero’s sacrifice fuels the pursuit of justice.
