Bihar’s New Smuggling Tactic Exposed – Auto Driver Arrested With 360 Fake‑Packaged Bottles

A fresh smuggling technique emerged in Muzaffarpur when authorities discovered liquor hidden inside bundles of copy paper.

The concealed bottles were packed in such a way that the outer appearance remained indistinguishable from ordinary paper packs. The product department’s team, guided by a confidential informant, set up surveillance in Ahiyapur's Bheknpur locality.

When the suspect auto was halted, officers opened the bundles and counted 360 foreign liquor bottles, all seized on the spot.

Auto driver Saddam Ansari was arrested. The product inspector, Prakash Kumar, noted that the liquor was manufactured in Uttar Pradesh and that such deceptive methods are becoming a hallmark of illegal alcohol traffickers.
