Authorities in Vaishali’s Raghopur police station have linked a gruesome kidnapping to a financial dispute arising from an online gaming platform. Vishal Kumar, Suraj Kumar and Manoj Rai, all residents of the same village, admitted that after losing a substantial amount in the ‘aviator’ game they conspired to abduct eight‑year‑old Ankush Kumar, the son of local resident Anil Pandit. Their plan was to extract a five‑lakh rupee ransom from the victim’s family. The investigation intensified, leading the suspects to discard the child into the Ganga River under the cover of night. While the victims’ slippers were found, the child’s body remains unrecovered. All three suspects are now in police custody.
