Bihar Accident: Friends Going for Movie Killed in Motihari Crash

What began as a casual outing among friends in Bihar ended in tragedy on Sunday night. Four friends from East Champaran's Sevraha village were on their way to watch a film in Motihari when their Scorpio collided with a tractor carrying maize, parked along the road near Gaighat Chowk.

The accident occurred near the Dharmkanta, under the jurisdiction of Harsiddhi police station. The collision was so violent that the Scorpio was left mangled, and all four youths were trapped inside.

Before the trip, the friends had gathered at a CSP centre in Sevraha, where they shared a meal and talked and joked together. Aditya Kumar Singh had arrived there on his bike, and Shubham Kumar and another friend were also present. They then set out together in Manu Kumar Singh's Scorpio toward Motihari.

Local residents rushed to help after hearing the crash. The Dial 112 team from Harsiddhi police station arrived quickly and, with the support of villagers, freed the trapped youths from the wreckage.

At a private hospital in Motihari, doctors declared Manu Kumar Singh and Shubham Kumar dead. Aditya Kumar Singh was seriously hurt and has been referred to Patna. The identity of the fourth injured youth has not yet been established.

Manu Kumar Singh's marriage had recently been fixed in West Champaran, and the family was preparing for the celebrations. His father, former mukhiya Murari Singh of Chadarhiya panchayat, is struggling to come to terms with the loss. Shubham Kumar was the son of Ajay Singh, also of Sevraha.

Police have seized both vehicles and launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Additional station house officer Avinash Kumar said the postmortem of both bodies was conducted overnight and the bodies were handed over to the families. Community leaders and residents have expressed sorrow, and the untimely deaths have left the area in grief.
