Vaishali district in Bihar is basking in glory as Ujjwal Priyank bags the 10th All India Rank and Abhishek Kumar secures 102nd in the UPSC CSE 2025 results. These achievements have sparked jubilation, with villages and families celebrating the duo’s rise to national prominence.
From Bidupur Panchayat’s Dilawaripur Purvi Tola, Ujjwal is the son of Sanjeev Kumar, an engineer doubling as a skilled farmer with extensive fruit gardens. A meritorious student, Ujjwal’s academic path included Class 10 from Patna’s Niketan School, ISC from St. Michael’s Digha, and B.Tech in Computer Science from Jaipur. On his third UPSC attempt, he surpassed expectations.
Expressing elation, Ujjwal said, ‘Seeing my name was the goal; 10th rank feels surreal.’ Felicitated by DM Varsha Singh, his home overflowed with well-wishers. He attributes success to family and divine blessings from Dwarkadhish and Radha Rani.
Abhishek, residing in Hajipur’s Digghi Paschimi, comes from an academic lineage. His father Abhay Kumar transitioned from professorship at Raj Narayan College to Registrar at Nalanda Open University. Rooted in Samastipur, Abhishek studied at Ramakrishna Mission Purulia for 10th, locally for 12th, cracked IIT for engineering, and left a corporate job for UPSC prep at home, succeeding on attempt two.
Online study alongside traditional methods proved pivotal, Abhishek noted. Post-results, his residence turned festive with sweets, crackers, and endless congratulations. These narratives from humble beginnings to elite ranks underscore resilience, proving UPSC success is attainable through dedication and support systems.
