To ensure transparency and curb illegal activities, the Bihar Department of Mines and Geology will conduct e-auctions for 44 new mining blocks via the MSTC portal. Additionally, a new transit pass system was launched on June 10, 2026. Under this system, any vehicle entering the state with sand or stone must pay a fee of ₹60 per metric tonne or ₹85 per cubic metre. These measures are designed to prevent revenue leakage, stop the use of fake invoices, and ensure that only technically qualified firms participate in the state's mining industry.
