In a daring daylight attack, unidentified gunmen murdered a well-known businessman in Muzaffarpur's Bochaha area. Hareram Chaudhary, a respected figure who had been honored by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his agricultural excellence, was shot inside his own shop. The murder occurred in Chakelal village, where Chaudhary operated a grocery store alongside his agricultural ventures. The brazen nature of the crime has sent shockwaves across the district, highlighting the growing audacity of criminals in the state. Family members are in a state of deep shock and mourning following the sudden and violent loss. The assailants, numbering three, arrived on a single motorcycle and entered the shop while Chaudhary was attending to his daily business. After firing multiple shots at close range, the attackers sped away, leaving the victim fatally wounded. Hearing the gunshots, locals working in nearby fields rushed to the site and transported Chaudhary to SKMCH. However, the injuries were too severe, and he passed away shortly after reaching the hospital. The local community remembers him as a hardworking individual who played a significant role in modernizing agricultural practices in the area. Following the incident, the Muzaffarpur police have established several checkpoints and are conducting raids at suspected hideouts. Rural SP Rajesh Singh Prabhakar confirmed that the police are examining CCTV footage from the highway and local markets to identify the motorcycle used by the killers. While the police are investigating a potential loot angle, they are also looking into the victim's professional and personal background to see if there was any prior threat. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and further legal proceedings are underway.
