Bihar Constable’s Uniform Marks Turn in Husband’s Life, Wife Runs Away

The case from Dalmianganj police jurisdiction centers on Ajay Kumar Singh’s accusation that his wife, Archana Bharti, abandoned him after receiving a Bihar Police uniform. Ajay, who works in a private job for the Dalmianganj Municipal Council, claims he financed Archana’s education, covering coaching fees and travel costs to multiple exam centres.

Archana succeeded in the competitive exam, earned a constable posting, and was sent to Darbhanga for training. According to Ajay, once the uniform arrived, Archana’s attitude shifted. She began limiting conversations with him and, in July, took a leave to visit her parental home. During that stay, Ajay says he discovered WhatsApp chats with a man named Vivek Kumar, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, Dehri, indicating an ongoing romantic liaison.

Ajay alleges that the family had previously intervened when the chats were first noticed, but the affair continued. On 3 July 2026, Archana allegedly left the marital home, taking jewellery and cash. Ajay filed a complaint at the Dalmianganj police station, which was later taken up by the Rohtas Superintendent of Police. An FIR has been lodged and the investigation is ongoing.
