Begusarai Crime: AI‑Fake Nude Clip Triggers Five‑Hour Hotel Rape

A 22‑year‑old graduate from Begusarai, Bihar, who administers a self‑help group, has revealed a terrifying chain of events that culminated in a prolonged assault inside a hotel room.

According to her account, the accused, Rohit Kumar, lived near her native village of Bhagwanpur. Their families became connected after Rohit’s sister married a neighbour of the victim, leading to frequent visits between the two homes. Rohit allegedly harboured a one‑sided infatuation and began insisting on meeting the woman.

When she firmly declined, Rohit is said to have misused artificial‑intelligence technology to fabricate a nude video of her, which he then sent to her as a means of blackmail.

On the morning of 27 September 2026, at about 7:30 a.m., the victim left her house to collect outstanding dues for her collective. She encountered Vikram Sahni, Rohit’s brother‑in‑law, who offered her a lift on his bike. He dropped her near Alka Cinema Hall where Rohit was already waiting.

Rohit and Vikram pretended to discuss the AI video issue and escorted the victim to the Blue Diamond Hotel. Once inside the room, Vikram stepped out, while Rohit locked the door behind him.

The locked room became the scene of a terrifying assault. Rohit brandished a knife, threatened the victim, and forced her into sexual intercourse. He recorded the act, attempted to strangle her with a makeshift garrote, and seized her mobile phone. The explicit footage and a live video of the beating were later shared across several WhatsApp groups.

The victim hid in the bathroom and, after enduring roughly five hours of confinement, managed to escape at approximately 12:33 p.m. She returned home and disclosed the incident to her relatives.

The following day, she approached senior advocate Amrendra Kumar Amar at the Begusarai district court. The lawyer filed an FIR, notified Superintendent of Police Mansi and SDPO Sadar, and handed over sealed electronic evidence to the investigating officers.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was set up under the district superintendent’s guidance. CCTV footage from the hotel captured Rohit’s arrival at 7:01 a.m. and the victim’s entry at 7:33 a.m.

Police have arrested Rohit Kumar in Samastipur as he attempted to flee toward Nepal, and have also taken Vikram Sahni into custody. The WhatsApp number used to circulate the manipulated video has been blocked by the cyber‑crime unit. Authorities emphasized that forensic and digital evidence will be presented in a speedy trial to secure a stringent punishment for the accused.
