Banka Sweet-Shop Brawl Leads to Fatal Burn of Young Shubham Kumar

In a shocking turn of events, a routine visit to a sweet shop in Banka turned lethal for 11‑year‑old Shubham Kumar. The child, who stays with his maternal family in Barkatth, stepped out with his mother to buy medicines. Following the purchase, his uncle invited him for a quick snack, and they walked to the well‑known Aman Sah Halwai at Rajabar Chowk.

While inside, a verbal clash among a few customers suddenly erupted into a physical confrontation. During the melee, hot oil from a large frying vessel splashed onto Shubham. The sudden burn caused him to lose his footing and fall straight into the oil‑filled kadai.

According to family members, the shop owner and other witnesses failed to intervene promptly. Shubham’s uncle lifted him out, but the burns were severe, covering a major part of his body. He was transported to a hospital where he later passed away.

Law enforcement has opened an investigation, filing a formal FIR. The victim’s relatives are demanding that the shop owner and anyone involved in the fight face rigorous legal consequences.
