Authorities Launch Probe After Viral Clip Shows Female Victim Being Thrown to Ground

A clip circulating on social platforms depicts police personnel in Muzaffarpur’s Kanti jurisdiction violently pulling a woman by her hair, pushing her onto the street and striking her. The incident appears to be connected to a family dispute after an inter‑caste wedding.

The woman, originally from Narsanda village, married a Barriarpur resident in May 2026. Her husband’s prolonged absence and alleged refusal of the in‑laws to accept her led her to seek refuge at her husband’s brother’s house. Police arrived, attempted to take her into custody, and the confrontation escalated.

The district’s senior police officials have formally recorded the complaint and opened an inquiry. They have assured the public that any officer found violating the law will be dealt with according to the code of conduct.
