AK‑47 Symbolic Protest Highlights Student Anger Against Exam Corruption
Hundreds of RJD cadres marched toward Patna’s Raj Bhawan on Wednesday, brandishing wooden AK‑47 replicas to dramatize their outrage over a suspected police shooting of student protesters in Siwan. The demonstrators, led by Tejashwi Yadav, demanded that the authorities investigate the alleged misuse of a real AK‑47 against peaceful demonstrators who were rallying against the NEET paper‑leak scandal.
The protest featured a chorus of slogans calling for “clean exams” and “no more AK‑47‑type oppression.” Party MP Manoj Kumar Jha warned that the ongoing leak culture has become a “perverse tradition” in Bihar, exacerbating youth unemployment and fueling widespread disillusionment.
RJD leaders accused the state police of intimidation, claiming that several student leaders have already been detained and that transport arrangements for incoming supporters have been deliberately obstructed. The march concluded with a pledge to keep up the pressure until the alleged perpetrators are brought to book.
Meanwhile, the BJP accused the opposition of staging the march to safeguard Tejashwi Yadav’s personal political career, a charge the RJD rejected as baseless.
