Following the derailment of the Mahananda Express near Ara, railway rescue crews acted promptly to mitigate the situation. After the engine, SLR and H‑1 coaches fell off the up line, specialists used heavy lifting equipment to reposition the three carriages onto the track.

The rapid response minimized service disruption and prevented any injuries among the approximately 800 passengers aboard the train. Railway personnel also cleared debris, checked signalling integrity, and communicated updates to commuters through station announcements and online portals.
