Major Drug Seizure Links Bihar Smuggler to Mumbai Narcotics Network

A large‑scale cannabis operation, valued at more than ₹10 crore, has exposed a direct link between a Bihar‑based trafficker and the Mumbai drug market. The operation began when the city’s Wari team intercepted a suspect near Bandra Terminus on 17 August, confiscating over ten kilograms of the substance. Subsequent questioning revealed the smuggler’s identity, prompting detectives to travel to Bihar. With assistance from the state police, the suspect was arrested in East Champaran on August 23, just as he was preparing to leave the country. This case follows a recent interception of 55 kg of methamphetamine at the Nhava Sheva container freight station, valued at ₹300 crore.
