Bihar’s Growth Priorities Highlighted in Meeting Between JD(U) MPs and Nitish Kumar

New Delhi, 12 August – In a high‑level session at Nitish Kumar’s Delhi residence, senior JD(U) parliamentarians discussed the most pressing development priorities for Bihar with the party leader. Present were national executive president Sanjay Kumar Jha and a roster of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members.

The dialogue focused on the advancement of critical infrastructure projects, including road connectivity, irrigation, and renewable energy installations, as well as welfare schemes targeting health, education and minority communities. Each MP delivered a concise update on the implementation status of programmes in their constituencies, highlighting successes and bottlenecks.

Nitish Kumar advised that the legislators should continuously raise these issues in Parliament and work closely with relevant central ministries to ensure effective execution. He stressed the significance of monitoring fund flow, maintaining transparency and fostering community participation.

Attending lawmakers included Dileshwar Kamat, Kaushalendra Kumar, Devesh Chandra Thakur, Alok Kumar Suman, Ramprith Mandal, Vijayalakshmi Devi, Sunil Kumar, and Party treasurer and upper‑house deputy leader Lalan Kumar Sarraf.

Alongside the JD(U) meeting, Bihar’s Minority Welfare Minister Jama Khan engaged in courteous talks with Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister JP Nadda, presenting a detailed briefing on the state’s overall progress. The minister reiterated the demand for a scheduled stop of the Capital Express at Bhabhua Road railway station in Kaimur district, emphasizing its potential to improve mobility, boost local trade and accelerate regional development.
