Bihar Flood Threat Grows Amid Rising River Levels and Storm Forecast

Across Bihar, rising water levels in the Ganga basin have intensified flood concerns. Districts such as Katihar, Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Lakhi Sarai, Khagaria, Munger, and Bhagalpur are experiencing severe inundation.

The Gandak River continues to swell, affecting areas in Gopalganj, Siwan, Shivhar, and East Champaran, where floodwaters have already breached embankments. Continuous rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are expected to worsen the situation in already vulnerable zones.

State officials are monitoring river gauges closely and have urged residents in flood‑prone regions to stay alert, keep emergency kits ready, and heed any evacuation orders that may be issued.
