Districts Categorized for Riot‑Control Deployment; Patna Gets Highest Strength

In the newly released deployment framework, Bihar’s 38 districts are grouped into three categories to optimise the allocation of riot‑control resources. Category ‘A’ includes Patna, which will host three anti‑riot companies and eighteen vehicles. Ten other districts—Gaya, Rohtas, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Motihari, Betia, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Bhagalpur and Begusarai—will each receive two companies and twelve vehicles.

Category ‘B’ covers a larger list of districts such as Nalanda, Aurangabad, Nawada, Jehanabad, Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Gopalganj, Saharsa, Supaul, Madhubani, Purnia, Katihar, Araria, Kishanganj, Banka, Munger, Jamui and Khagaria. Each of these will be assigned one company and six vehicles.

The remaining districts—Arwal, Shivhar, Bagaha, Lakhsiraj, Sheikhpura and Nawgachia—form Category ‘C’ and will each get a single platoon with two vehicles. This tiered approach ensures that police presence aligns with the specific risk profile of each district.
