In a development that has gripped Bihar’s political landscape, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will assume his Rajya Sabha seat today, fueling talks of his stepping down from the state helm. Senior JD(U) figures have revealed that the party will deliberate and decide on his resignation within two to four days.

Vijay Choudhary, a cabinet minister and prominent JD(U) voice, addressed the media in the national capital. ‘Post his Rajya Sabha oath, Nitish ji heads back to Patna for consultations. Expect a firm call on the CM post shortly,’ he said. The successor, he noted, would emerge from the NDA MLAs’ choice.

Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, JD(U)’s national spokesperson, shared with IANS that Nitish is fully prepared for his Upper House innings. ‘Big announcements are on the horizon in a few days. Bihar’s new setup will proceed with his consent,’ Prasad assured.

From the BJP side, Minister Ram Kripal Yadav lauded Nitish’s legacy of service. ‘His guidance will steer the incoming NDA regime,’ he remarked, adding that the face of the next CM remains a party decision.

Reflecting on two decades of transformation, JD(U) legislator Jayant Raj Kushwaha called today’s oath a mere formality. With whispers of potential successors growing louder, Bihar braces for a swift leadership shift under the NDA alliance.
