Bhopal: Congress Remembers Indira Gandhi and Patel with Blood Drive

Bhopal witnessed a day of remembrance and service on October 31 as Congress leaders and workers gathered to honor former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Madhya Pradesh Congress Sevadal organized a tribute event and a blood donation camp at the party's state office.

The occasion marked Indira Gandhi's sacrifice day and the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, the former Home Minister remembered as the Iron Man of India. Office bearers and workers of the Congress Sevadal, along with members from the Bhopal city and rural district units, took part in the programme.

The gathering paid floral tributes at the portraits of both leaders. At the blood donation camp, Sevadal office bearers and workers willingly donated blood, reflecting their commitment to humanitarian service and social responsibility.

Speaking at the event, Avneesh Bhargava said Indira Gandhi's sacrifice for the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country would remain a constant source of inspiration. He said Sardar Patel's contribution to nation-building and national unity was immeasurable.

Bhargava said that true homage to these leaders lies in following their values and continuing to serve society and the nation. He explained that blood donation is more than a social act; it is a human commitment to give a new life to someone who needs it.

He also said the Congress Sevadal would continue to lead in public service, rooted in the principles of service, dedication and social accountability. Describing blood donation as the greatest gift, he said the blood donated by one person could bring hope to a patient in need.

Several other locations across the state also held events on these occasions. Along with political parties, social organizations paid tribute to both leaders, and speakers at these programmes discussed their contributions to the country's progress and development.
