Bhid MP Bajrang Sonawane Presents Drought Relief and Health Funding Requests to PM

During the 20‑minute audience with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MP Bajrang Sonawane of Beed district highlighted the critical water shortage affecting farmers and asked for immediate release of water from the Ujani reservoir to the Manjra dam. He also submitted a comprehensive list of development demands, ranging from swift clearance of pending crop‑insurance claims for the 2025‑26 season to the re‑introduction of add‑on insurance cover for 2026‑27. Sonawane advocated for seasonal and mobile schools for children of sugarcane workers, creation of local employment opportunities, and targeted financial assistance for agro‑based MSMEs, food processing units and skill‑development programmes. Additional infrastructure pleas included a medical college and super‑specialty health centre in Beed, a 50‑bed critical‑care block in Ambajogai, and enhanced cold‑storage and warehousing facilities to boost agricultural value chains.
