Science Conclave at Bharat Mandapam Spotlights Deep-Tech and ISRO
A three-day national conclave on science, technology and innovation begins at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to inaugurate the event on Tuesday.
The Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave 2026 will run from October 27 to 29. It will gather scientists, researchers, academics, policymakers, industry heads, startups and international experts to discuss emerging technologies and India's national priorities in science and innovation.
Sessions will cover twelve main subjects, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, climate science and ocean research. The deliberations are expected to shape research priorities and support the translation of scientific work into real-world solutions.
The conclave will feature a large exhibition highlighting India's scientific achievements and emerging technologies. Approximately 150 deep-tech startups will display their latest innovations at dedicated stalls and explain their possible uses across various fields.
The event also introduces the Global Connect Networking Event, which will bring more than 300 invited participants from India and abroad together. The forum aims to promote international research partnerships, industry-academia collaboration and the movement of innovations from labs to commercial markets.
ISRO is among the key participants. Its chairman, V. Narayanan, said at a pre-event curtain-raiser that the space agency's display will include a model of its next-generation heavy-lift launch vehicle. The vehicle is designed to deliver more than 30,000 kilograms of payload to Low Earth Orbit. Models of the Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5 missions, which aim to send Indian astronauts to the Moon, will also be shown.
The conclave is being organised by CSIR under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. It is intended to support the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision by strengthening the country's science, technology and innovation ecosystem.
