Jaipur witnessed a landmark event on Friday as Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched 42 specialized PCR vans aimed exclusively at bolstering women’s security from the police headquarters. This step solidifies the government’s resolve to fortify protections for women statewide.
In his speech, Sharma reiterated that women’s safety and empowerment are non-negotiable priorities. Continuous upgrades to the 1090 Women Helpline and enhanced police response mechanisms are underway to achieve this vision.
These state-of-the-art vans will function 24/7, linked directly to the Abhay Command Center via advanced Mobile Data Terminals. This integration allows for seamless real-time data exchange, enabling rapid deployment and coordinated responses to distress calls.
Beyond MDTs, the vehicles boast GPS systems, medical stretchers, high-intensity LED lights, and comprehensive emergency kits, ensuring they are fully prepared for any situation.
The Chief Minister noted that arming Rajasthan Police with such modern tools will drastically cut response times in cases of violence against women. Paired with the robust 1090 helpline, this network is set to transform ground-level support and prevention efforts.
Sharma envisioned a Rajasthan where women can move freely without fear, thanks to these proactive measures. The presence of key figures like Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham and DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma at the flag-off ceremony highlighted the initiative’s importance.
This deployment not only upgrades infrastructure but also signals a cultural shift towards prioritizing female safety in every corner of the state.
