Bhagwant Mann Secures Agri Promises from Chouhan in Delhi Talks

The center recognizes our contributions and has accepted 3-4 major demands, particularly on crop diversification." He pointed to the dire groundwater depletion from paddy farming, pushing many regions into critical 'dark zones.' Future plans include scaling up maize, pulses, and oilseed cultivation to offer farmers efficient, low-water alternatives with better profitability. Chouhan affirmed the center's commitment, detailing joint programs under cotton, pulses, oilseeds, and horticulture missions. "We aim to protect farmers from losses while conserving soil and water," Chouhan stated. Both governments will collaborate on climate resilience measures, with full central backing promised for Punjab's needs.
