Rs 30 Crore Bonus for 3.69 Lakh Tendu Collectors in Betul

Madhya Pradesh has taken a major step toward supporting forest workers, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav transferring over Rs 30 crore in bonus money to 3.69 lakh tendu leaf collectors. The event took place in Betul, where the amount was credited through a single click.

Alongside the tendu leaf bonus, more than Rs 13 crore in timber dividend was transferred to members of Gram Van Samitis. The programme was held at the Police Ground in Betul district.

Addressing the gathering, Mohan Yadav said the state is advancing public welfare work under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, guided by the vision of 'Sachcha Vaada aur Pakka Kaam'. He highlighted welfare measures for the poor, farmers, youth and women.

He said farmers had received the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi installment the previous day and that they are being provided adequate electricity and irrigation facilities.

The Chief Minister said the bonus is the rightful share of tendu leaf collectors in the forest divisions of South Betul, West Betul, North Betul, Pandhurna (South Chhindwara), East Chhindwara, West Chhindwara and Narmadapuram. The state has paid over Rs 80 crore to such collectors so far.

He also said the government continues to provide regular benefits to Ladli Behnas. A Rs 50 crore campus for girls' education and a hostel for tribal daughters in Betul has been approved with a bhoomi-pujan ceremony, he added.

Under the Medhavi Yojana, students who score above 70 percent in board examinations get laptops worth Rs 25,000, and school toppers are given scooties.

Mohan Yadav said the government supports students with books, cycles, uniforms and scholarships. He said industries are being established for employment, and skill training is being provided so that young people become employers. The state has so far given government appointments to 85,000 youth, and recruitment for one lakh new posts is under way.

He said more than 18,000 police posts have been filled and recruitment has taken place for assistant professor, mining inspector and doctor posts. Over one lakh officers and employees have received promotions. He concluded that employees received an extra 2 percent DA ahead of Diwali.
