New Indigenous Units and ‘Baz Battalion’ Strengthen India’s Multi‑Domain Reach

The creation of the Baz Battalion marks a decisive step toward expanding India’s remotely piloted aircraft capability. Staffed by specially trained operators, the unit will provide continuous aerial surveillance, real‑time intelligence and rapid response in contested environments.

Alongside other indigenous formations, the battalion embodies the Army’s push for self‑reliance and the integration of land, air, cyber, space and electromagnetic spectrum operations into a seamless, network‑centred warfighting posture.
