Bauddh Accuses Modi Govt of Broken Promises, Misuse of Institutions

New Delhi, October 23: Haryana Congress Rajya Sabha MP Karamveer Singh Bauddh has sharply criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his 'failed product' remark about Rahul Gandhi, calling it an attempt to hide the government's own failures.

Bauddh said Rahul Gandhi is leading a major struggle to protect the Constitution and democracy, and that a majority of the people trust his voice. He described Gandhi as one of the country's most educated and patriotic leaders, committed to equality, fraternity, compassion and equal rights.

He accused the Prime Minister of taking huge loans worth thousands of crores, of using this to bring the media under one-sided control, and of making false claims on almost every issue. He listed inflation, corruption, black money and taxes as areas where promises made by Modi had not been fulfilled.

The Congress MP asked people to watch Modi's old speeches from before he became Prime Minister and compare them with present actions. He said the government's timelines had shifted from five years to 60 days and then to Vision 2047.

Bauddh criticised the sale of assets and institutions that he said were built by Congress. He also said that the government was labelling these institutions as parasites while transferring them to private hands.

He alleged that during the entire session other parties were denied a chance to speak. He said that the Prime Minister had not answered in Parliament about the firing on children, the use of pellet guns, lathi charges, mistreatment of children and actions carried out by people in civil dress.

Seeking accountability, Bauddh said citizens and the opposition had every right to ask questions about what is happening in the country. He urged the government to stop blaming others and tell Parliament who had fired on children, and to compare its record with that of Congress.

He said that the government was offering visions for 2047 while promising basic needs for a distant future, and that people had seen through these claims. He warned that the government would soon pay the price for its false promises.

Bauddh further claimed that constitutional institutions had been brought under government control. He said votes were being cut arbitrarily in large numbers and that the government stood by the Election Commission whenever it faced questions. He asked how the government could respond on behalf of an independent body.

He also said that officials, employees and police personnel felt helpless because they had been stripped of authority. He questioned the constitutional bills that granted the Election Commission wide powers and said the government's intent was not right.

Bauddh concluded by saying that the opposition would fight inside Parliament as long as the session continued and outside it as well. He asked whether it should stay at home while the country was looted, and said protecting the country, the Constitution and democracy was the opposition's mission.
