Bar association urged to discuss metal‑detector rule after recent attacks

During a suo motu hearing on the recent violent episodes targeting legal professionals, the judges highlighted the need for a uniform screening mechanism. While no arrests have been reported in the egg‑throwing incident involving advocate Sayan Banerjee at Barabipur, the court stressed that a consensus from the Bar Association is essential. Once a written agreement is obtained, the bench indicated it could formalise the metal‑detector requirement across the state.
