Bansgaon Police Officer Caught Red‑Handed While Offering ₹15,000 for Name Removal

Manish Kumar, the Sub‑Inspector in charge of Bansgaon police station, was caught red‑handed on Thursday after a pre‑planned ACB operation. He had demanded a bribe of ₹15,000 from Bijray Mundu to facilitate the deletion of Lakho Mundu’s name from an NDPS case docket. The complainant reported the extortion to the ACB, which verified the claim and recorded it as case 07/2025. A second case, 04/2026, was opened under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The ACB officers recovered the cash at the scene and transferred the accused to Jamshedpur for formal legal processing.
