Two Banned Groups Linked to Manipur Arrests, Officials Say

Investigators identified that many of those taken into custody have affiliations with outlawed outfits such as the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and its political wing Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), as well as the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak and United Kokri National Army. The suspects were reportedly involved in violent acts ranging from attacks on civilians to abductions, extortion, forced recruitment of youths and other prohibited activities.
