Ballari Farmers Await Drought Relief as Ashok Demands Immediate Action

Ashok detailed that the financial department warned low income would trigger immediate relief once a drought is declared. He cited specific sowing percentages: Ballari taluk 14.56%, Kurugodu 5.32%, Siruguppa 52.79%, Sandur 67.33% and Kampali 34.91%. The overall sowing in the district stands at 38 percent. He criticized the state’s failure to release water from the Tungabhadra reservoir despite available storage, noting that during the previous BJP rule, water was released even with only 26 TMC stored.
