Balancing Science and Spirituality: A Blueprint for a Developed India

President Droupadi Murmu addressed a gathering of the Brahmakumari organization in Vadodara, outlining a holistic roadmap for India’s development by 2047. She argued that economic growth alone will not define a truly advanced nation; spiritual awakening must be an equally prioritized pillar.

According to Murmu, the country’s youthful majority must be shaped into individuals who excel in cutting‑edge fields such as robotics, artificial intelligence and renewable energy, while also embodying confidence, self‑discipline, positive thinking, empathy and solid moral values. She noted that the fast‑moving digital world, coupled with heightened competition and changing social norms, demands a robust inner foundation.

The President called for systematic integration of India’s spiritual legacy—practices like yoga, meditation, ahimsa and the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’—with modern scientific education. This, she said, will produce a generation capable of driving scientific breakthroughs, fostering inclusive societies and sustaining spiritual well‑being.

Murmu concluded that a developed India of 2047 should be economically prosperous, scientifically powerful, socially inclusive and spiritually awakened, creating a model for the world to follow.
