Balaghat Region Faces Alarming Tribal Student Mortality

Nagpur, September 16 – In a recent press briefing, Abhijit Dipke of the Cockroach Janata Party highlighted a disturbing spike in child mortality within tribal schools of the Balaghat area. According to Dipke, more than 30 students have died in the last three months alone, and community members claim that the death toll has surpassed 100 since January.

The leader pointed out that the underlying causes include inadequate sleeping arrangements, with many children forced to rest on bare floors due to a shortage of beds. He also noted the absence of on‑site medical professionals and essential medications, leaving students vulnerable to preventable illnesses and accidents such as snake bites.

Dipke warned that the ongoing neglect threatens the future of tribal education. He called for an urgent audit of school facilities, the deployment of qualified doctors, and the provision of nutritional meals. The CJP has announced a focused "Fix Tribal Schools" drive to bring these issues into the spotlight and press the state government for swift corrective action.

The campaign seeks to secure not only enrollment but also a safe learning environment, comprehensive healthcare, and quality instruction for Maharashtra's tribal children, who are essential stakeholders in the state's natural resource wealth.
