Renowned actor Manoj Bajpayee, fresh from his Padma Shri honor, explored Patna’s Bihar Museum on Tuesday and voiced strong support for the state’s film industry ambitions. Gone are the days when Bihar was known only for its literary prowess and folk traditions—now, it’s positioning itself as a theater and movie-making powerhouse.
Bajpayee, who contributed to the Bihar Film Promotion Policy’s development, explained its magnetic pull on national filmmakers. This initiative, he said, will invigorate film production, creating jobs and spotlighting Bihar’s unique stories rooted in social realities and ancient history.
‘Imagine world-class shooting spots, advanced tech resources, and training centers right here,’ Bajpayee enthused. ‘Our youth could thrive in the industry, bringing Bihar’s tales to silver screens worldwide.’ His words underscore the policy’s potential to transform the local economy and culture.
The museum tour was equally inspiring. Bajpayee traced epochs from Paleolithic tools to Mughal grandeur, appreciating how exhibits like ancient vessels, figurines, and playthings narrate Bihar’s evolution through key eras like Maurya and Gupta. He lauded its role in vividly showcasing Indian heritage.
Chatting with officials including Secretary Pranav Kumar, Bajpayee stressed collaborative opportunities in this evolving landscape. Thanking the Art and Culture Department, he described the museum as a modern marvel safeguarding traditions—a beacon of national pride.
