Deepotsav 2026: 30 Lakh Diyas Target in Ayodhya
Ayodhya, October 26: The administration in Ramnagari has stepped up efforts to give Deepotsav 2026 a historic character. The target this year is to light more than 30 lakh diyas across the city, marking one of the largest such efforts in the region.
The preparations come alongside a Valmiki Jayanti programme planned at the Ram Mandir complex. Trust member Dinendra Das said the event will be held in the evening, with participation from trust members, priests, Brahmins and people from the Hindu community. The observance will be carried out with devotion and as per tradition.
Das also spoke about Diwali arrangements. He said a recent meeting decided that the existing customs of Ramnagari would be maintained, and the festival would be celebrated in a grand and traditional manner. He added that more than one lakh diyas will be lit within the temple premises, and attractive lighting will be installed. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to attend the celebrations.
To make the Deepotsav a success, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University will provide more than 35,000 volunteers, who will take on various responsibilities during the event.
Ram Mandir and Ramnagari have long been known for their magnificent Deepotsav celebrations, and this year's preparations reflect the same spirit of grandeur.
