Ayodhya Clerics Condemn Maulana’s Statements on Krishna and Prayer
Ayodhya’s Tapasvi Chhawani witnessed an unprecedented backlash on July 16 when Jagadguru Paramhansa Acharya and Dharmdas Maharaj denounced Maulana Jarjis Ansari’s allegation that Lord Krishna was a Muslim who performed five daily Namaz. The clerics described the claim as “factually incorrect, lacking any proof and fundamentally inhuman.”
Acharya stressed that Krishna is a manifestation of the divine, revered across centuries as the supreme deity. He argued that Indian culture, which embraces diverse customs, cannot tolerate statements that pit one faith against another, especially when such statements question the sanctity of prayer.
The Acharya urged the nation’s highest authorities – the Prime Minister, the President and the Home Minister – to initiate strict legal proceedings against the maulana, asserting that any attempt to stir communal discord must be penalized.
Maharaj added that the criticism reflects a shallow understanding of Sanatan Dharma, a tradition that predates Islam, Buddhism and Christianity. He reminded the audience that Krishna’s worship has always been inclusive, attracting saints and devotees irrespective of creed.
Both leaders called for responsible discourse, emphasizing that misinformation about revered figures undermines societal peace and must be addressed promptly by the legal system.
