The Economic Offences Wing issued a public advisory urging citizens to exercise caution when approached by individuals or agencies claiming to secure visas or overseas jobs.

Experts recommend verifying the authenticity of any recruiter through official government channels before making any payment.

Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to the police helpline or the dedicated crime‑branch number.

The advisory also references earlier scams involving falsified interview processes, bogus medical tests and counterfeit offer letters for destinations such as Bahrain, Qatar and the Maldives.

These repeated incidents highlight the need for heightened vigilance and stricter monitoring of recruitment operators.
