Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Birth Anniversary Marked by Tributes in Dehradun

Uttarakhand’s political leadership gathered in Dehradun to commemorate the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami laid a floral wreath on the former prime minister’s portrait, acknowledging his lifelong commitment to nation‑building.

Vajpayee’s tenure as prime minister from 1996‑1998 and 1998‑2004 saw him winning three consecutive Lok Sabha elections – a first after Jawaharlal Nehru – and becoming the first leader to secure victories from four different states. Dhami reminded the audience that Vajpayee’s literary talent, oratory skills and unwavering dedication to democratic processes remain a source of inspiration.

The ceremony also featured statements from senior party leaders who lauded Vajpayee’s service and urged citizens to keep his values alive.
