Assistant Engineer Anupama Sahu Accused of Corruption; ₹7.15 Lakh Confiscated

Odisha’s vigilance unit has placed Assistant Executive Engineer‑cum‑Estimator Anupama Sahu under investigation for alleged bribery. Search teams moved in on several addresses: her ancestral home in Talcher, her in‑law’s residence in Jiridamli, and a rented property on Main Road, Kamakhyanagar that includes a bank, a gymnasium and a metal‑rod depot. When her official car was stopped near Marshaghai crossing on NH‑53A, officers seized ₹3.15 lakh in cash. A follow‑up sweep of her house uncovered an extra ₹4 lakh, raising the total cash confiscated to ₹7.15 lakh. The probe is expanding to include bank statements, insurance policies, gold ornaments and automobiles that appear inconsistent with her official salary.
