Chief Minister Highlights Infrastructure as Pillar of Assam’s Development

During the inauguration of the Sinamara railway overbridge, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stressed that connectivity is the cornerstone of Assam’s next development phase. He pointed out that without modern roads and rail facilities, the benefits of growth cannot reach remote communities.

Sarma’s remarks came after a brief tour of the overbridge, where he observed the finished structure and explained its role in de‑congesting traffic in Jorhat’s urban core. The CM emphasized that state‑wide projects are underway to modernize bridges, highways and railway crossings.

The overbridge will give commuters a safe, uninterrupted passage over the railway line, reducing the waiting time for both vehicles and pedestrians. This, the CM said, will improve access to markets, schools, hospitals and employment hubs.

The announcement reinforces Assam’s strategy to address historic gaps in transportation infrastructure and to lay a resilient foundation for sustained economic growth.
