Ashok Siddharth’s Farewell Note Highlights Loyalty to Mayawati and BSP Mission

Lucknow, September 10 – Long‑time BSP stalwart Ashok Siddharth put an end to his political journey in a solemn letter addressed to party chief Mayawati posted on X. He described her directives as "supreme over everything in the universe" and placed his personal relationships on a lower tier compared to her command.

The 35‑year veteran traced his entire public life to the ideals of Kanshi Ram and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, calling Mayawati his "political guru and sister" who empowered him to become a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council and later the Rajya Sabha. He wrote, "Your faith made me part of your family, a debt I cannot repay while alive."

He invoked the names of Gautama Buddha and Kanshi Ram, swearing never to have acted against the party’s interests and insisting that any thought of wrongdoing against Mayawati is unimaginable. Siddharth also refuted accusations that he was trying to usurp party control or misguide Akash Anand, clarifying that his contacts with Anand were limited to events you assigned him to oversee.

Labeling the allegations from a small group of party insiders as baseless conspiracies, Siddharth warned that his decision to quit should not be tied to Anand’s political comeback. "Anand is your nephew before he becomes my son‑in‑law; he spent two decades under your care. A modest worker could never mislead him," he asserted.

He praised Mayawati’s altruism, recalling how she declined a Chief Ministerial post and a Rajya Sabha nomination for the broader cause. Siddharth vowed that if his continued presence harms the BSP’s Dalit mission, he is prepared to step away from all political and social responsibilities. "If the cause ever demands my life, I will offer it gladly," he concluded.
