Ashok Nagar Farmers Set Example for Statewide Agricultural Growth

During the Balram Krishi Mahotsav held in Ashok Nagar, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav praised local growers for becoming a benchmark for the rest of Madhya Pradesh. He said their dedication to quality crops, such as the highly demanded Sharbati wheat, and the iconic Chanderi saree industry, has earned the state international recognition.

The leader encouraged all farmers to follow this model by embracing diversification—integrating vegetable cultivation, dairy and fish farming with traditional grain production. He pointed out that a mixed‑farm approach reduces risk and boosts earnings.

Yadav reiterated that the government sees farmers, women, the poor and youth as essential stakeholders. Their collective prosperity will fill the nation's grain bowls and strengthen the economy.

To support this vision, the state is rolling out infrastructure upgrades, including reliable power supply, water management systems and improved road connectivity to each farm. Administrative reforms now allow land‑record updates once a year, and compensation for land taken for public projects has been increased to four times market rates.

The chief minister also announced that specific schemes are underway to raise the dairy sector’s contribution from 12 percent to 20 percent of the total agricultural output, with assurances of adequate electricity provision for farms within a few months.
