Ashadh’s Grand Jagannath Ratha Yatra Scheduled for July 16-24

One of the oldest and most elaborate religious processions in India takes place during the Shukla Paksha dwitiya of Ashadh. The Jagannath Ratha Yatra will move from the main sanctum to the historic Gundicha temple, beginning on July 16 and concluding on July 24.

Millions of pilgrims gather to witness the massive chariots bearing the deities Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra. The event highlights regional devotion, cultural performances, and communal feasting, reinforcing the cultural fabric of the Ashadh month.
