Arvind Sawant Defends Sonia Gandhi, Calls BJP a ‘Split‑Minded’ Organization

On November 7 in Mumbai, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant praised the statements made by Sonia Gandhi regarding the Bharatiya Janata Party. He labeled the BJP as a “group that thrives on division and hatred,” stating that the party’s agenda is to break societal bonds rather than foster unity. Sawant highlighted that the surge in sectarian and caste‑based tensions since the 2014 elections stems from the BJP’s power‑driven strategies. He also pointed out that the Nehru‑Gandhi family’s legacy of imprisonment and the donation of estates like Anand Bhawan stand in sharp contrast to any comparable contributions from BJP leaders. Sawant concluded that any comparison between the two families is fundamentally flawed.
