Aruna Chaudhary Calls for Transparency in Punjab Recruitment

During a rally in Chandigarh, Congress legislator Aruna Chaudhary demanded that the AAP government release a detailed white paper on its job creation claims in Punjab. The opposition says the administration has announced 65‑68,000 new posts but has not clarified how many are genuinely new versus replacements for retired staff.

Chaudhary insisted that transparency is essential, especially concerning alleged paper leaks in state-sponsored examinations. She argued that distinguishing between "leaked papers" and "copying" is futile if exam content is being transmitted through Bluetooth or other electronic means before the test begins.

Rana Gurjit Singh, speaking alongside Chaudhary, accused the government of using statistics as a political tool while ignoring the real employment scenario on the ground. He noted that each year the state witnesses the retirement of about 10‑12 thousand employees, a figure that should be reflected in any comprehensive recruitment report.

Congress MLA Pargat Singh added that the party can furnish retirement lists for the past five years, but despite repeated requests, the government has not disclosed a full list of newly appointed officials. He demanded a clear breakdown that shows which posts are newly created and which are simply refilled.

The opposition also referenced comments made by Rahul Gandhi in Parliament about former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, noting that admiration for senior leaders is not a fault and accusing the BJP of "use‑and‑throw" tactics.

Chaudhary concluded by urging the administration to publish the identity of each selected candidate, their district of residence, and the specifics of every appointment. She warned that without such data, the public will remain skeptical about the government's employment promises.

Congress leaders called for an immediate release of the white paper, stating that only a full disclosure can restore faith in Punjab's recruitment and employment policies.
