Arrest of wanted criminal Irfan after shootout in Sambalpur

Police in Sambalpur arrested Irfan, a wanted man linked to more than two dozen crimes including theft, robbery, dacoity and drug trafficking. Irfan was traveling on a motorcycle with accomplices Deepak Kumar and Mohammed Armaan when a patrol from the Sadar police station attempted to stop them. While the two associates were detained, Irfan fled and fired three rounds at the pursuing officers near the Rasnapur Canal Road, Suudung Jungle area. The police returned fire, delivering two rounds that hit Irfan’s left leg. He was later apprehended, treated for his injury and handed over to the investigative team. The operation also led to the seizure of illegal Kaf syrup shipments.
