Arjun Vahini to operate on par with National Disaster Response Force

Future plans include equipping Arjun Vahini with the same tools, vehicles, and technology used by the NDRF. The goal is to create a state‑level disaster response capability that can act swiftly and efficiently during floods, cyclones, landslides, and other calamities.

The decision follows a tragic incident in June when a warehouse collapse in Taratla, Kolkata, claimed 16 lives, highlighting gaps in the existing emergency framework.
