In a fresh recruitment drive, the Guwahati High Court is inviting online applications for three contractual Law Clerk posts. The notification, released earlier this month, has set a firm deadline of 20 May for form submission and 25 May for fee payment, creating a brief but critical window for law graduates across the country. Applicants must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in law from a recognised university; those holding master’s or doctoral qualifications, combined with courtroom experience or academic publications, stand a better chance of selection. Age criteria stipulate a maximum of 40 years on the closing date, with standard relaxations extended to candidates from reserved categories. The recruitment process comprises a written test worth 120 marks, followed by an interview and thorough document scrutiny. Selected clerks will draw a fixed monthly salary of ₹30,000 and serve an initial two-year term that may be extended by another year. Fee structure remains modest: ₹500 for general and OBC candidates and ₹250 for SC/ST(P) and ST(H) applicants, while PwBD candidates are fee-exempt. The entire process is online, requiring candidates to register on the court’s official portal, fill personal and academic details, upload scanned documents, remit the fee electronically and download the confirmation page. Given the competitive nature of judicial clerkships and the narrow application window, prospective applicants are encouraged to complete their submissions well before the deadline to avoid technical glitches or server overload.
