Anti‑Terror Drive: Authorities Freeze Multiple Land Parcels and Houses in Kupwara

In a decisive anti‑terror operation, Kupwara police used the powers granted by UAPA Section 25 to confiscate more than ₹1.05 crore of assets linked to extremist groups. The seizure covers ten kanals and seven murla of land across various Khavit, account and Survey numbers, as recorded in the FIR. Among the recovered assets is a three‑storey residential building belonging to a local individual and a separate one‑storey house on Survey number 889. Additional holdings include plots in Khavit numbers 187 and 437 and accounts 232 and 659. The police have connected these properties to money earned from terrorist activities and have described the move as essential to cut off financial support for insurgents operating in the district.
