Anti‑Corruption Agency Conducts Trap Operation in Bharatpur District

The Anti‑Corruption Bureau’s Dholpur unit executed a meticulously planned trap in Bharatpur’s Nadbai region, targeting a senior medical officer accused of soliciting a bribe. The sting was triggered after the ACB verified that the officer, Shashikant Sharma, had demanded ₹35,000 via an intermediary, Trilochand Sharma, to influence a medicolegal investigation into an assault case. Deputy Inspector General Omprakash Meena and Deputy Superintendent Pramchand Meena supervised the operation, which culminated in the capture of the broker receiving the money directly from the officer. The seized amount was found concealed in the officer’s trouser pocket, and both individuals have been placed under custody pending further inquiry. Authorities have indicated that the case will be filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
