Anti-Corruption Drive Intensifies After Sub-Registrar Caught Taking Money
In a high‑profile raid, the CBI apprehended the Sub‑Registrar of Punjabi Bagh, Nangloi, along with an associate for allegedly demanding a bribe to register a property gift deed. The operation was launched after a grievance filed on July 17, 2026, accused the official of asking for ₹1 lakh.
During a planned sting on the same day, officers observed the Sub‑Registrar solicit and receive ₹80,000 from the complainant. The suspects were immediately arrested, and further inquiries are being pursued.
Authorities highlighted that the case underscores the agency's firm stance against corruption in public offices. Residents are invited to report similar misconduct by contacting the CBI's Delhi headquarters or calling the provided helpline.
